Get Your Play On at These Las Vegas Parks and Playgrounds

The weekend is made for play, and your children will be thrilled with the chance to explore some of the best parks and playgrounds in Las Vegas. Enjoyable year-round, well…except for those 115 degree summer days, these parks are designed to entertain kids of all ages (and maybe even their parents, too). We’ve gathered our favorite parks and playgrounds in the area. Get ready to be wowed by ziplines, hiking trails, and… peacocks?

Fox Hill Park

Located in West Summerlin, this park is one of the very best in Las Vegas. Designed for kids 5 and up, Fox Hill Park is a colorful park and a climber’s delight. Rope towers, climbing structures, and huge slides will catch everyone’s eye, but it’s the two ziplines that take this park to the next level.

Paseo Vista Park

Looking to beat the Las Vegas heat? Paseo Vista Park in Henderson will help keep you cool and the kids entertained. With multiple playgrounds, a splash pad, and covered eating areas, Paseo Vista Park is a great place to spend the day as a family.

Exploration Peak Park

Pack a picnic and your bathing suit, and take the kids to Exploration Peak Park for the day. Tucked in the southwest in Enterprise, Exploration Peak Park promises to surprise you. Not only does it have an easy mile-long trail that gives you a view of the Strip, it also has a splash pad and a playground that looks like an old western town. Definitely a must-see!

Floyd Lamb Park

When walking through Floyd Lamb Park in Centennial Hills, keep your eyes peeled… for peacocks! The colorful birds roam the park, and while they are used to humans, they shouldn’t be fed. The lush green park is dotted with four large ponds, and is home to rabbits and dozens of bird species. There is an $8 fee to enter the park.

Downtown Container Park Playground

When adults are clambering to use a playground, you know it’s gotta be good. Fremont Street is home to the Downtown Container Park, a destination designed around shopping, eating, and entertainment. The playground is more of an interactive play exhibit and is based on a Swiss Family Robinson treehouse with a dash of urban art. Climb to the top of the 40’ container for a view of the whole park or take a spin on the sensory tube slide that has cosmic, hyper-drive and fish tank displays. Kids are welcome until 9pm, when the Container Park becomes 21+.

Mount Charleston

If you’re looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, take a short drive to the Springs Mountains National Recreation Area, known as Mount Charleston to the locals. Whether you’re there to ski in the winter, or hike in the summer, the recreation area is a great place to explore unexpected topography and learn about some of the 50 sensitive plants and animals in the area.

Sunset Park

A Las Vegas favorite since 1967, Sunset Park is a one-stop spot for walking trails, a splash pad, fishing, and so much more. Wander through the park’s 214 developed acres and discover something new each time you come. Plan to spend the day as you have easy access to tennis courts, a dog park, a lake with free fishing, shaded picnic areas, and numerous special events.
