EAT

We had a chance to sit down with one of Las Vegas’ favorite foodies! We learned WHO he is, when he’s not taking a bite, what foodie life is like and - WHAT are his favorite bites in Las Vegas.

JT is an avid exercise enthusiast outside of the foodie life & enjoys working up a sweat in pretty much any way he can. From lifting weights, to cycling, to biking from his home to The Strip during the COVID shutdown, he’s always up for an adventure. Lately, he’s been getting into pickleball & that’s been really fun for him because it’s both casual & can be competitive as well! He also work part time as an occupational therapist, helping injured or disabled clients recover & live their life to the best of their ability in all daily activities such as self-care, leisure, & community mobility.

Tell us a little about your foodie adventure - how did you get into it and what has your journey been like?

I started back in 2017 taking photos of my food in the Bay Area! I moved to Vegas in 2018 knowing nobody here & had to start all over! It was fun learning a new city & what it has to offer, Vegas has really come up as a foodie destination & it has only gotten 10X better since 2018! The transition to videos & Reels has been a new challenge that I am still learning how to master everyday, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world! This opportunity has led me to meet so many amazing people, both foodies, chefs, & even out-of-towners who come & visit Vegas for the food! I’ve built an amazing community of local foodies in Vegas that are all so passionate about what we do, helping local businesses thrive & get the word out there that their food is BOMB & TOTALLY WORTH travelling off the Vegas Strip for!

What’s something the average person wouldn’t know about Las Vegas Foodie life?

There is SO much more that goes into a video than what you see on IG or TikTok! From travelling to thew newest spot in town, to networking & meeting the chef & owners, to actually tasting the food & getting behind the scenes kitchen shots & viral clips, to going home & editing and creating an engaging voiceover, it’s a FULL TIME JOB that never stops! It definitely keeps me busy, & there’s always something or somewhere new to check out, so I don’t think I could ever run out of places to visit & try! That’s what keeps this job exciting, is that Vegas is ALWAYS opening up new places in town worthy of checking out & experiencing, then sharing it with my fans!

Having visited hundreds of locations in Las Vegas and eaten thousands of meals, we are dying to know - what does JT love the most? Here we have it…

JT’s Top 5 Las Vegas Date Night Eats

The Golden Steer

Located in a little strip mall next to The Strat, this place has been around for 65 years this year! Famous Vegas stars like Frank Sinatra, The Ratpack, & The Mob used to dine here & they’ve kept consistency in their staff the same over the years making for a very high quality product & experience! Walking in feels like taking a step back in time in all the best ways, this is truly the OG Vegas steakhouse experience!

Highly recommend the Tomahawk Steak Special that’s around $200, comes with sides & salads & the most perfectly cooked steak! Add on a Giant Austrailian Lobster Tail for the ultimate surf & turf experience plus MAKE SURE You order the Sapphire Jubilee (secret menu item!) It’s a blueberries Jubilee that is one of the best desserts in the entire city.

Al Solito Posto

Al Solito Posto (ASP) is an extension of the famous Esther’s Kitchen by the incredible Chef James Trees himself. ASP is a more classic take on Italian food, but truly one of the best Italian experiences you’ll have in Las Vegas! Everything we’ve tried is incredible, from the Pan Seared Scallops to the Nigerian Prawns, or the Pappardelle or Mafaldine & Spicy Rigatoni Alla Vodka, plus an awesome cocktail & wine selection as well. They’ve even got “No Corkage Wednesdays” which is fun if you’re a wine lover & want to bring in your own for the best experience! They’re also in Tivoli Village which is super romantic & a great spot to walk around after or before dinner. The Apple crostata for dessert will melt your heart!

Vetri Cucina

Vetri Cucina is located on the top of the Palms casino with a breathtaking view of the Strip! Ask to be seated by the windows for the best experience, everything Marc Vetri presents here is creatively outstanding. They’ve recently changed the menu to be a $165pp tasting menu that I’ve dying to try, but I’ve dined here several times & have always left in awe of the experience! Truly a foodies destination both in ambiance & food quality.

Ocean Prime

PATIO STEAKHOUSE ON THE STRIP..that’s all you need to know about this place! Just kidding, the Cameron Mitchell group REALLY cares about their employees & gives them many benefits & pay that other places don’t, & you can truly feel it in the reciprocal service & experience they provide. Hands down some of the best service I’ve had in Las Vegas! Make sure you ask for the patio view for an incredible site of the Las Vegas Blvd while dining! I really like the customize your own seafood tower, I thought that was unique. Fish is fresh, flown in daily, & the steaks are broiled at 1200 degrees. Don’t skip the lobster mac & cheese!

Lamaii

This is our go-to Thai date night spot in Vegas, the ambiance is classy & the wine list is great! The great modern takes on Thai food including Lobster Pad Sen or Crispy Duck Drunken Noodles are perfectly executed, and the Tom Kha soup to start is a MUST every time. You really can’t go wrong here with any of their dishes, & take your time to indulge in their excellent wine & cocktail list. This is the epitome of the Off Strip dining experience, high quality food at local prices. Bring your kids!

Thanks for the Date Night Tips, JT!!
